1

Whales

Whale’s are your biggest customers - the one’s that purchase the MOST and generate the MOST REVENUE.

Identifying where your biggest customers are coming from and how do they behave (i.e. what pages do they view, what device are they on, etc), is valuable information.

2

Engaged Traffic

People who engage with your content (by viewing lots of pages), generally are more inclined to eventually become a customer.

So, by creating a segment of engaged traffic, you can identify where such engaged users have come from (i.e. traffic source) and where they are located (location report).

3

Cart Abandoners

This is a segment of people who add items to their shopping cart, and don’t purchase.

It is interesting to see which Traffic Sources and Devices are generating these situations.

4

Social Media

Social media can be a great tool for building awareness of your brand, but it is also a VERY time consuming activity.

By creating a segment of Social Media traffic, you can identify if this traffic is quality traffic – i.e. are these people engaging with your content or are they leaving your website immediately.

This can help decide just how much time you allocate to building your social media business profile.
